Who am I?

I am happy that you are interested to get to know me better.
My name is Yanís Moreira. I’m a yoga teacher and I’m – just like yourself – still trying to find my way through life. Yoga has helped me a LOT to connect to myself, to ground, to disconnect from the external world and have a moment of stillness.

From the age of 21 I started the practice of yoga, not knowing what I was doing. While I was struggling a lot with negative thoughts and a very low self esteem; yoga was the ONLY thing in my life which made me feel present and at peace. It was like being high without taking any drugs. At that time it was exactly what I needed to be able to cope with the world. Not much later the feeling arose that I need to share this with everyone who is willing to listen. Not knowing that, by the time I was ready to teach on a permanent base, I would be 31. Which was in 2023.

A lot has happened in the meantime. I have travelled a lot, distracted myself many times in different ways. I had times where I practiced every week, I had times where I didn’t practice at all. And that’s OK. Growing and learning things in life is not a linear process. Sometimes you take one step forward and then two steps back. What is important is that it led me where I am right now.

Yoga

Yoga is my practice to come home to my body. It allows me to check out from the external world and have a moment to be fully present within myself. To feel every cell and have every muscle working. It is a way to allow myself to really feel into every posture and breath into it. And I love it!!

Yoga is like a moving meditation (for me). That’s why the yoga I teach is slow but with movement. It is a way to reconnect with and massage the body. To calm down the mind After this practice you will always feel lighter.

At this stage it’s my mission is to help people to connect with themselves again. In the West we live in such a fast pace with a lot of distractions. How hard is it to really feel into the body and listen to your intuition? It is our nature, but we seem to have forgotten that all our answers lay within.

Whatever you’re going through, however you are feeling; yoga can and will help! For years yoga has been my therapy for many different reasons (breakups, depression, eating disorders, sadness) and it still is. And I would LOVE to have you so I can show you what yoga can bring you.

Dear Yanís,
Thank you so much for the wonderful yoga classes, your genuine interest, your warmth, and the personal touch you brought to each session. I truly enjoyed every Monday evening Flow class.

I felt incredibly welcome thanks to your calm presence and the way you carry yourself. The space was beautiful and well taken care of. The music, the different scents, and the sounds took me on an amazing journey that evening. I felt completely at one with myself.

I followed a 1:1 program with Yanís. The calmness she radiates, her understanding, and especially her knowledge of the body and the appropriate exercises were healing and helpful for me. The 1:1 sessions were always based on my personal needs and held at a location that felt comfortable for me. I’m grateful to Yanís for her support and understanding during these yoga sessions.
